Let’s face it, you’re not going to be that lucky to snatch an M4 GTS, but thankfully BMW has got you covered with the new M4 Competition Sport.
But then again, you’re going to be crossed again unless you live in Spain, since the automaker has unveiled the model as an exclusive sale there. The model is on stage during the Madrid International Auto Show, with the BMW M4 CS being a special series limited edition of the M4 that manages to be very close to the hotter M4 GTS. The latter will be limited to just 700 units sold around the world, the Spanish buyers will get the chance to fight amongst themselves for the M4 CS. That’s because the model is even more exclusive since 60 examples will be the total production run. And at €132,900 each, they will be way more expensive than a standard M4 Coupe which kicks off at €92,099. So, back to scouting BMW for that M4 GTS you’ve been dreaming about.
For the extra money, an M4 CS buyer will receive a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine that has been massaged for another 25 hp for a grand total of 450 hp. In M4 GTS style, the power is directed towards the rear axle with the assistance of a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. Getting the M4 CS in lieu of the hotter M4 GTS will also grant you rear seats – meaning it’s a tad heavier. It still packs the ceramic brakes of the GTS which bring a weight economy of 30 pounds (13.5 kilograms), besides the upgraded stopping power. BMW Spain is offering the M4 CS with the same alloys design as in the GTS but with a silver finish and all units will also come with the adaptive M chassis and differential as standard, alongside some M Performance parts for good styling measure.
