Besides record sales for the first half of 2012, BMW also managed to achieve its best-ever sales for July.
The auto maker managed to sell 135, 537 BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce models, up 5.0% compared with the same period last year. BMW also succeeded in selling over 1 million units in seven months, for the first time in the company’s history, with 1,036,088 vehicles from January to July, up 7.6%.
“The BMW Group continued on its successful course in July and we are confident that we will continue to make solid gains throughout the second half of the year,” said Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management, Sales and Marketing BMW.
The auto maker’s new models were very well received by customers, and Robertson believes that the new BMW 7 Series and X1, which will be launched this month, will have the same success. From January to July BMW managed to sell 274,058 vehicles in Asia, up 25% and in July it sold 36,128 vehicles, up 20.8%, with Japan up 13.8%, Korea up 27.8% and China up 22.5%.
In Europe, the auto maker’s sales remained at a stable level in July with 60,855 units delivered, down 2.4% and in the first seven months the total was 497,932 units, down 0.4%. In the Americas the company’s sales increased 3.4% to 33,076 vehicles in July and an 8% increase to 227,696 vehicles in the first seven months.
