You’re wondering how fast the new BMW 1 Series M can get around Germany’s Nürburgring, right? Well, a forum member of the 1Addicts fan site who calls himself “SteveD” claims that the Ring time for the 335-horsepower strong M model is 8 minutes and 12 seconds.
To put that into perspective, that’s 10 seconds faster than the E46 M3, which is hardly surprising, however, as the old E46 only made 262 ft-lbs, compared to the substantial 332 ft-lbs the new turbocharged straight-six makes.
Now that’s quite an achievement. BMW won’t mind the hardcore 1 Series to be faster than the M5 since it is will be replaced soon.
As per the details BMW revealed last week, the 1 Series M moves by way of the company’s N54-spec twin-turbo, direct-injected 3.0-liter inline six tuned to 335 hp and 332 lb/ft at 1,500 rpm
