BMW takes the wraps off 2017 M760i xDrive image

The largest luxury automaker in the world has officially unveiled online the all new 2017 M760i xDrive, set for a public debut during the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.

This is the high performance flagship version of the top of the range 7 Series and as such will bring to the table no less than 600 hp. The model also has a bespoke styling thanks to the aerodynamic styling package that renders a more dynamic look to the front end and also packs a trunk-mounted rear spoiler. We also noticed the Cerium Grey hue, the unique 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels using Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber and the sports exhaust system. The cabin remains a pretty much familiar affair but the changes include a three-spoke sport steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, and illuminated door sill plates. The 2017 M760i xDrive has also been granted a bespoke center console with Piano Black trim and V12 badging.

Most importantly, motivation comes from under the hood in the form of the 6.6-liter M Performance TwinPower Turbo V12 engine that delivers 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. It has been linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a rear-happy four-wheel drive system – this setup is enough to sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in around 3.9 seconds before topping out the usual, electronically-governed maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Keeping the “monster” under control is no easy feat but the engineers have refitted the 2017 M760i xDrive with a modified air suspension and an Active Comfort Drive system with Road Preview technology. The flagship also comes equipped with the Integral Active Steering system which can also turn slightly the rear wheels to achieve maximum maneuverability.
