BMW to open its largest showroom in Abu Dhabi

BMW, the world’s largest luxury automaker plans to open its largest showroom next week in Abu Dhabi, the German carmaker’s local distributor has confirmed.

Abu Dhabi Motors, BMW Group’s exclusive importer in the UAE capital, will host a VIP party on February 14 to celebrate the opening of its new AED300m ($81.6m) showroom facility in Umm Al Nar.

The new showroom facility that will be the biggest worldwide for BMW Group boasts an area of 35,000 square meters divided between Rolls-Royce, BMW, MINI, Motorrad and BMW Premium Selection, the company’s pre-owned vehicle division.

In addition, the after sales area will include 120 working bays and will feature the latest computerized service and diagnostic technology equipment.

The German automaker has posted a nine percent increase in sales in the Middle East in 2011 compared to the previous year.

The UAE remained the biggest market, accounting for 47 per cent of BMW Group Middle East’s 2011 sales. Abu Dhabi was the highest volume selling market, with a 23 per cent growth and 4,436 cars sold while Dubai also witnessed an increase of 23 per cent with 4,395 cars sold.
The company’s flagship BMW 7 Series remained the highest volume selling model with 4,511 cars sold.
