The BMW X2 is getting closer to its debut by the day and we now have a first glimpse of what the German based automaker’s small crossover will look like.
After starting its life as a simple rumor back in late 2012, the BMW X2 is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time by the guys at the BMW Blog, who have released a render of the small crossover. The BMW X2 will actually be a slightly modified version of the BMW X1, just like the BMW X6 is based on the BMW X5 and the only noticeable difference will be, of course, the lowered roof line, which gives it the look of a coupe.
According to the source mentioned above, the interior design of the BMW X2 will be a cross between the Z and the X models but this might actually have something in common with the X Coupe Concept, which was officially presented to the public back in 2001. The production of the X2 hasn’t been confirmed by BMW just yet, which is focusing on developing the X4 for the moment, so we don’t have any official details on the model just yet. A concept car, which will preview the BMW X2, might be presented sometimes next year, during an international auto show.
