BMW has recently pulled the wraps off the X4 Concept, in a premiere, ahead of its public debut scheduled for the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show.
The BMW X4 Concept is being placed into the spotlights for the first time and we can clearly see the front fascia dominated by the prominent kidney grille, the LED headlights which are flanking it, incorporating three dimensional daytime running lights, the sculpted hood, the large air intakes with matte black trim and chrome accents, the striking roofline reminding us of its larger brother, the X6, the plastic body cladding, the dual exhaust system, LED taillights, distinctive rear bumper with underbody protection and that Long Beach Blue exterior shade.
The German based automaker BMW didn’t release any details on the technologies which will be adopted by the new X4, in its final production version, and we don’t even know what’s powering the concept. The production ready BMW X4 is expected to come with a 2.0 liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, which is good for 240 BHP (179 kW) and 352 Nm of torque (260 lb-ft), or by a 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo unit, producing 300 BHP (224 kW) and 406 Nm of torque (300 lb-ft). The model will be assembled in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and it will go on sale in early 2014.
