The German based automaker BMW has recently confirmed the arrival of the brand new X4 next year.
The BMW X4 has been rumored to hit the market for quite some time but until now we didn’t know an exact date for when the model will be seen for the first time. That is until now, because according to the guys at Car and Driver, who are quoting the BMW chairman Norbert Reithofer, the BMW X4 will be unveiled sometimes next year.
“We created the premium Sports Activity Vehicle segment. Until then there were no all-wheel-drive cars on the roads that were so sporty. From the late 1990s to date, we have sold over 2.7 million BMW X models. Next year we will expand our offering in this segment with the BMW X4”, as Norbert Reithofer said.
The BMW X4 will be a smaller and cheaper version of the X6, coming with a sloping roof line and a design similar to its larger brother. The BMW X4, which was codenamed the F26, will be based on the X3 and it will share some engines and underpinnings with the model. Additional details on the BMW X4 are limited for the moment and will probably be announced close to its debut.
