The German based automaker BMW is planning to introduce the X4 in a concept form during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
The BMW X4 has been confirmed for production earlier this year and even if we haven’t heard anything official on the model just yet, generic rumors are saying that it will be officially presented to the public in a near-production ready concept form during the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The model will “test” the reaction of people at the show for the first time in January and it’s expected to make its way onto the market in late 2013 or early 2014.
The second generation of the X3 will borrow the monocoque steel platform and the engines to the X4 and the new crossover will basically be a smaller version of the X6. The BMW X4 will get four doors and it will be able to carry four passengers. The model will be aimed towards young buyers who are looking for a sportier crossover so its off-road abilities will be limited. The BMW X4 will go against models like the Range Rover Evoque and the Porsche Macan. Additional details on the model are limited for the moment and will be announced in Detroit next year.
