A new top of the line version of the recently unveiled BMW X4 has been recently caught on camera by our spy photographers and it is suggesting an M40 variant.
BMW is not planning on introducing a true X4 M but that didn’t stop the German based automaker into creating a hotter version of the crossover. The model in question will probably be named the BMW X4 M40 and it has been recently caught on camera while it was being tested out on public roads. We can notice, from the images posted below, the camouflage which has been concentrated on the front bumper and on the rear end of the model.
This is basically suggesting that the test mule is wearing a new body kit which should make it look different than the current most powerful version, the xDrive35i, and it will also be getting a dual exhaust pipe layout. It remains unknown for the moment whether this will be an X4 M40i or an X4 M40d, so we will have to wait for the car manufacturer to officially pull the wraps off its body, which will probably happen over the next few months, most likely in early 2015.
