The BMW X4 M40i is getting ready to be launched on its local market as the carmaker has officially announced its starting price.
The model in question is the new range-topping version of the X4 SAC (Sports Activity Coupe) and it has been unveiled just a few days ago. The vehicle will obviously be more expensive than the previous range-topping version, the xDrive35i, which costs 58,800 euros and for it, customers will have to pay 65,000 euros, on its local market, in Germany.
The 2016 BMW X4 M40i is bringing a retuned sports suspension system with beefier stabilizers and springs, a tweaked xDrive all-wheel drive system, the Ferric Grey side mirror caps, a sports exhaust system with valve control, the 20-inch M double spoke alloy wheels and several other goodies which should make it popular with its future buyers.
The best part is found under its hood where a power upgraded from the X4 xDrive35i has been applied and the model is now bringing a total of 360 HP (265 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, up from the 306 HP (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration now takes 4.9 seconds, 0.6 seconds less, and the top speed has been electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph), while the xDrive35i can reach 247 km/h (153 mph). Rumor has it that BMW will introduce a full X4 M in the near future, but this still has to be confirmed.
