BMW X5 F15 enters production in the U.S. image

The third generation of the BMW X5, the F15, has recently started production in the United States, at the Spartanburg facility.

According to the car manufacturer, the first unit to roll off the over-seas production line is finished in Mineral White and it’s an M50d, with Exclusive Nappa Mocha leather interior. This will be exported to a dealership in Eastern Europe.

“Since 1999, the X5 has been a significant contributor to the Spartanburg plant’s global success. Our team will continue to build the next-generation X5 with the superior quality that our customers around the world have come to expect from South Carolina”, said Josef Kerscher, the BMW Manufacturing president.

As a quick reminder, the new generation of the BMW X5 has been officially unveiled a few months ago. The model’s engine lineup will include the 4.4L V8 with 450 HP and 650 Nm of torque, in the xDrive50i, allowing the model to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds while burning an average of 10.5L / 100km, the xDrive30d, with its 3.0L TwinPower Turbo, with its 258 HP and 560 Nm of torque, and the M50d, with the 3.0 liter six-cylinder tri-turbo diesel, producing 381 HP and 740 Nm of torque.
