The BMW X5 Security Plus will be officially introduced later on this month, during the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, in a premiere.
After being previewed by a concept back in 2013, during the Frankfurt Motor Show, the brand new BMW X5 Security Plus is taking a step forward towards its future customers, with its introduction at the 2014 Moscow Motor Show, in its final production version. The model in question has received features such as the special protection seams, the safety glass or the armor, to help keep the occupants safe in most scenarios.
“New BMW X5 Security Plus, meets the highest requirements in the field of safety of passengers, will also be demonstrated at the booth”, says the car manufacturer in its official press release.
The 2015 BMW X5 Security Plus will be taking its power from a 4.4 liter TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. The unit is producing a total output of 450 HP (330 kW) and it has a peak torque of 650 Nm (479 lb-ft). We have no clue on what performance this model has but we do know that the standard xDrive50i X5 can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.9 seconds and it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). More details on the model will be announced on the 27th of August, during the Russian automotive event.
