The German based automaker BMW is planning to introduce a brand new model over the following years, which will be smaller in size than the current Z4, and it might be named the Z2.
BMW is definitely one of the busiest carmaker in the world and after showing us this year the new X5, the 4-Series Coupe, the facelifted 5-Series, the facelifted 7-Series, the i3, the i8 and not only, time has come for the company to plan yet more future models. One of these cars will be the so-called BMW Z2, a model smaller in size than the current Z4, which should make its way onto the market probably in 2016.
Rumors are saying that the upcoming BMW Z2 will ride on the modular UKL front-wheel drive platform and if this happens, than sports cars enthusiasts will turn their head to other rear-wheel drive vehicles out there. The BMW Z2, in its final production version, is said to be considered the spiritual successor of the Z3. The model will get a 3-cylinder 1.5 liter turbocharged engine under its hood and a 2.0 liter four-cylinder unit. Prices for the model should start at just over 20,000 GBP (23,300 EUR / 31,000 USD).
