The German based automaker BMW and Italian coachbuilder Zagato might put the BMW Zagato Coupe model into production in a limited run of only 100 units.
After being officially presented to the public over the weekend at the 2012 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the BMW Zagato Coupe is once again being placed into the spotlights, this time by a rumor which is saying that the model might actually hit the production line. Even if there is no official word from BMW or Zagato just yet on the Coupe being mass-produced, rumors are saying that the vehicle in question might be produced in a limited number of just 100 units.
The BMW Zagato Coupe is coming with a hand-crafted aluminum body, which is covering the Z4 mechanicals, and the most striking design features, signed by Zagato, are the Kamm-tail rear end and the “double-bubble” roof, along with the Z logo into the model’s twin kidney grille. The interior design of the BMW Zagato Coupeis mostly adopted from the Z4 modeland it’s coming with a two-tone grey leather with red accent contrast stitching on the seats, instrument panel and doors. BMW didn’t say anything about the Coupe’s powertrain but this is most likely to be the 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder unit found on the top-spec Z4.
