The German automaker has decided to celebrate the introduction of the all new M2 Coupe with a very special limited-run model – the new Cruise M Bike Limited Edition.
The bike of course has been inspired by the new performance coupe, wearing an exclusive Long Beach Blue metallic paint and being developed on a hydro-formed aluminum frame with a custom “bullneck” that is actually reminding us of the tank placement on a regular motorcycle (another BMW specialty). We’re not really bike experts, but the automaker told us to look at the highlights: smooth welded seams, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, and 28-inch wheels. Other features include a 30-gear drive system, a carbon fiber seat post and spacer that go hand in hand to make the bike stronger and yet lighter. There’s also BMW and M badging and a custom plaque that names the model as a “BMW M Bike Limited Edition.”
Production will be capped at 1,500 units and the bike will only be sold at select BMW retail partners – pricing starts at $1,585 (€1,400). You might wonder why the automaker has decided to celebrate the M2 Coupe launch with a bike, we can tell you the Bavarians have been developing and producing bikes for more than six decades and they decided to make bike riding a “very special experience.”As for the M2, this is the latest and greatest in terms of high performance models – packing 365 horsepower under the hood thanks to the turbocharged six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine and reaching 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds.
