The all-new Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio has been brought to the 2012 Bologna Motor Show by the German based automaker.
After being officially presented to the public a week ago during the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show, the new Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio is being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with the German based automaker bringing it to the 2012 Bologna Motor Show in Italy. As you probably already knew, the 2013 VW Beetle Cabrio is getting an interior design similar to the regular version but in order to make it safer, engineers have added two pop-up roll bars behind the rear seats and the A pillars have been strengthened.
Volkswagen didn’t announce any details yet on the new Beetle Convertible for the Old Continent, but across the United States, the model is coming with a 2.5 liter five-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 170 HP and 177 lb-ft of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, along with a 2.0 liter TDI four-cylinder, generating 140 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque, and a 2.0 liter turbocharged TSI four-cylinder, developing 200 HP and 207 lb-ft of torque. In the U.S., prices for the model start at $24,995.
