Borgward has released the first images with its upcoming BX7 crossover which will debut in just a few days.
The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will see the debut of a brand new model signed by Borgward. This has been called the BX7 and it is a crossover which is looking very German, except for the front grille, which seems borrowed from a Buick vehicle. The Borgward name is now owned by the Chinese based Foton Motor but that didn’t stop designers from creating an appealing vehicle which seems to have come to life on the Old Continent.
Rumor has it that the new Borgward BX7 stands at 4.7 meters in length and it is able to carry up to seven people. The model should get a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine under its hood, rated at 220 HP, which will be connected to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Power will be sent to the four-wheel drive system which has been equipped with the electronically controlled multi-plate clutch signed by BorgWarner. A plug-in hybrid version of the crossover is expected to be shown as well, which will combine the power of the same internal combustion unit and the electric motor powered by a battery providing an electric range of up to 55 km (34 miles). The total output produced in this case will be 400 HP. The new Borgward BX7 will be officially presented to the public at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in just a few days, and more details on it will be announced then.
