Bosch signed on July 20th an agreement to acquire Ampack Ammann, situated in Königsbrunn near Augsburg.
Ampack Ammann is a German company that produces and sells filling and packaging machines for liquid and paste-like foodstuffs. It has around 250 associates and over the past few years it has generated average sales of almost 35 million euro. The companies, which wait for the antitrust authorities’ approval, refused to give details about the purchase price.
The equipment produced by Ampack includes dosing systems, cup and bottle filling machines and peripheral machinery, and it is used to fill and pack highly sensitive food such as baby food, dairy products, hospital food, but also dosable products such as cereals.
“Ampack Ammann is a technological leader in the area of low-germ and aseptic processing of pre-formed cups and bottles. With the acquisition of Ampack Ammann we will be able to complement our existing product portfolio in this segment”, said Friedbert Klefenz, president of the Bosch Packaging Technology division.
Ampack produces its own equipment and machines, and also offers various after-sales services, such as maintenance and overhaul of used machinery and also the supply of spare parts.
