What do you do when you’re one of the most recognizable names in the aftermarket industry when it comes to modifying the luxurious and comfy Mercedes rides into proper land rockets?

Well you better live up to your name, right? The German tuning experts from Brabus have ample experience with Mercedes rides, especially the go-fast AMG varieties. But they’re also not shying away from working on the luxury behemoths of the house. And aside from taking some time to play with the G650 Landaulet, it doesn’t come grander than working on both the Mercedes-AMG S63 and the luxurious Maybach S650. The end result – a total of 1,600 horsepower (1,193-kilowatts) and more than 1,800 pound-feet (2,440 Newton-meters) of torque in between the two…

After fiddling with the factory 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine, Brabus has come up with an S63 that delivers 690 hp (515 kW) and 700 lb-ft (950 Nm) of torque, with supercar credentials all around, including an acceleration to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in just 3.3 seconds. If extreme luxury and performance is what you need, then the Maybach S650 does come out spectacularly from Brabus – packing a 6.3-liter biturbo V12, amped from the factory-six liter, and sporting 887 hp (662 kW) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque. Top speed is now around 217 mph (350 kph), while the sprint is handled in 3.7 seconds.
