The German automaker has decided the UK market needs a new flagship grade trim level for the Touareg range, with the R-Line Plus – now the top grade – priced from £48, 095.
The new trim can already be ordered across dealerships, and the five-seat SUV gets as a design perk the 21-inch alloy wheels with Mallory styling, in lieu of the 20-inch wheels of the R-Line trim. Additionally, the driver gets a standard Area View system complete with front, rear, and side wide-angle cameras, for a 360-degree bird’s-eye exterior view of the vehicle projected on the infotainment system’s display. Inside the cabin the owners will be treated to Piano Black finish for the center console, dash, and air vent surrounds, as well as Vienna leather upholstery for the seats. By the way, the two front seats get all the bells and whistles – namely the 14-way electronically adjustable system with four-way adjustable head restraints.
According to the automaker, the Touareg R-Line Plus model grants perks worth £3,255 and the premium over the regular R-Line is of just £1,160. The powertrain options remain in place, with the large sport utility vehicle treated to a couple of diesel powerplants, all displacing three liters. The buyer gets a choice of 204 or 262 hp and the only transmission choice is an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
