Brose North America recently declared it will buy a former Mopar facility in New Boston.
The company invests $60 million to expand in Michigan, adding around 450 full-time jobs at the facility. Brose will receive $3.5 million from the Michigan Business Development Program incentive to expand in Michigan and buy the former Chrysler Mopar site on Bell Road in New Boston. Hiring will begin in short time and equipment will be delivered immediately. The plant is expected to ramp production until 2013.
“Brose, with 650 employees currently in Michigan, is a global leader and vital to our automotive supply chain,” said Governor Rick Snyder. “The company’s decision to invest so heavily in Michigan is a strong statement of the great opportunities that, thanks to our business climate improvements, means Michigan offers growing companies one of the best business climates in the Country.”
Brose has its regional headquarters in Auburn Hills, Mich. And also owns a production facility in Warren, Mich. Brose North America is spread in eight locations in the States, Mexico and Canada. In 2011 the company reached annual sales of $1 billion in North America and over $5 billion worldwide.
