The successor of the iconic Bugatti Veyron, the so-called Chiron, is currently returning with some new info, coming in from reports.
The newest report in which the Bugatti Chiron is the main star is telling us some performance details which make the Veyron look like an old and slow vehicle. According to the guys from Car Magazine, the Chiron will be maintaining the 8.0 liter W16 engine, from the Veyron, despite the fact engineers have been considering at one point a 14-cylinder engine, but the output will be much more impressive. This should stand at a total of 1,500 HP (1,103 kW), and the peak torque will be 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft).
The new megacar to be produced by Bugatti will be able to put some Formula 1 cars into the shadows and thanks to some technologies like direct injection, cylinder deactivation and e-turbos, the Chiron will be usable as a car on a daily basis. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the vehicle in question is expected to need just 2 seconds, which will make it faster than the Veyron SS WRE. The top speed will also increase from 415 km/h (258 mph) to a total of 463 km/h (288 mph) and the speedometer will be indicating up to 500 km/h. The average fuel consumption will stand at 20 liters / 100 km (14 mpg UK / 11 mpg US). The Bugatti Chiron is expected to be launched sometimes in 2016, possibly during the Geneva Motor Show.
