Bugatti Extends Transmission Production Contract with Ricardo

Bugatti, the French supercar manufacturer has extended its contract with Ricardo for the production of the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) system of its Veyron supercar.

The seven-speed DCT of the Veyron is the result of a design, development and manufacturing collaboration between Ricardo and Bugatti — a joint endeavour that encompasses both the transmission hardware and its electronic control unit and software.

“Ricardo is really pleased to see a further extension of the partnership with Bugatti on the dual clutch transmission of the Veyron, a supercar that represents the ultimate in high quality automotive design, engineering and manufacture,” said Ricardo director of high performance transmission products Mark Barge.

Ricardo plc is a British publicly listed company named after its founder, Sir Harry Ricardo originally incorporated and registered as Engine Patents Ltd in 1915 and since 1919 based at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussx.

The company has 1.500 employees globally.
