Bugatti launches the fifth Legends model: “Black Bess” image

The six-part “Les Légendes de Bugatti” Edition is drawing near to its conclusion, with the fifth model now revealed and slotted for tis first public appearance during Auto China Beijing 2014.

The French luxury manufacturer will host the model’s world premiere in the world’s largest auto market, which is also a big consumer of high end products. The 21-29 April exposition will now surely be attended by some of the 2.15 million euros car customers.

“Over the course of its history, Bugatti has not only been responsible for crafting enormously successful race cars, but has also created some outstanding road vehicles,” notes Dr Wolfgang Schreiber, President of Bugatti. “As the fastest road vehicle of its time, the Type 18 was in a class of its own. It truly is the legitimate forerunner for the Veyron, and is therefore a Bugatti Legend.”

As always, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse “Black Bess” is a reinterpretation of a well known model or person from the company’s rich heritage – this time the Type 18 “Black Bess”, which was a world speed record holder and one of the first road legal supercars at the time (around 1912-1913).

The run of the latest Legends edition is limited to three vehicles and will cost at least 2.15 million euros. For that, you get the 1,200 hp setup, good for a 0-100 km/h run of 2.6 seconds, not to mention that with a top speed of 408.84 km/h (roof down), the Vitesse is the fastest production roadster.
