Although Chrysler’s Clint Eastwood Super Bowl commercial has attracted great media and general attention, the record for most viewed ad was broken by 2013 Cadillac ATS 30-second spot, which is considered the most-viewed ad spot in U.S. TV history.
The ad entitled “Green Hall” received an audience rating of 43.46, higher than any other Super Bowl ad, followed by the 60-second ad for the Kia Optima Limited with 42.25.
”We have a big message this year – Cadillac is expanding with new models challenging the world’s best luxury cars. This stunning viewership data proves that Cadillac’s big message reached the largest audience,” said General Motors Global Chief Marketing Officer Joel Ewanick. “When it comes to Super Bowl ads, everyone has opinions on their favorites. But it’s a fact that this Cadillac spot had the biggest audience during the game.”
On YouTube the ad has more than 457,000 views, compared to Chevrolet’s own Silverado and Camaro ads, each with more than 2.1 million views. The commercial presents the upcoming 2013 ATS being tested in Germany, before its launch in the summer on 2012 into compact sedan category, the most important luxury car segment in the world.
