Cadillac hints at diesel engine for the new Escalade image

A new diesel engine is expected to be offered on the new generation of the Escalade, once the model will make its way onto the European market.

The 2015 Cadillac Escalade is getting ready to receive a diesel engine option under its hood. The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet and it was actually hinted by the Cadillac Europe director of Marketing and Public Relations, Rene Creis, who has been contacted by us.

“We cannot confirm anything at this point in time”, said Rene Creis when he was asked if there is a possibility of the new Escalade receiving a diesel engine. “However, never say never.”

There are no details on the Cadillac Escalade’s diesel engine but it is known that Europeans prefer such units when it comes to large SUVs, over the petrol powered ones, and considering the fact that this model has a 6.2 liter EcoTec V8 petrol powered option in the United States, it is certain that it will not be ordered by customers living on the Old Continent. And speaking of the Old Continent, you should know that prices for the new Escalade will be set at 78,500 EUR in countries like Germany and France while in the Netherlands or in Greece, they will climb up to 131,150 EUR. In the U.S., the cheapest Escalade costs 63,050 USD.
