A hotter version of the Cadillac ATS-V, the ATS-V+, is rumored to hit the market soon.
The Cadillac ATS-V has some serious competition in the shape of the new Mercedes AMG C63 or the BMW M3, but that isn’t stopping it from trying to become even better. According to a recent report published by MotorTrend, the model in question is rumored to get an even hotter version. Our source is naming it the Cadillac ATS-V+ and this should drop the 3.6 liter V6 engine in order to make room for a larger 7.0 liter V8 LS7.
This unit is found on the fifth generation of the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and it is capable of putting down no less than 505 HP (377 kW) and 651 Nm (481 lb-ft) of torque. However, the unit is expected to receive some updates which will be making it even more powerful. This will be connected to a 7-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed automatic gearbox while a dual-clutch is expected to join later on. If we have your attention, be advised that this should join the ATS-V lineup for the 2017 model year, meaning that you may be able to place an order for it sometimes in 2016. The current Cadillac ATS-V has a 3.6L twin turbo V6 with 455 HP (339 kW) and 603 Nm (445 lb-ft) of torque. It has a starting price of 62,000 USD, without the 950 USD destination charge while its two-door brother, the ATS-V Coupe, can be bought from 63,660 USD.
