The new Corvette C7 GT3-R has been introduced at the Hockenheimring by Callaway Competition as this will be seen in action soon.
The guys from Callaway Competition have officially pulled the wraps off their newest creation, the Corvette C7 GT3-R, which has seen daylight recently at the Hockenheimring. The vehicle in question is bringing a wide body kit, with modified front and rear fascias, with new bumpers, widened front and rear fenders, new side skirts, a large rear wing and several other goodies which are setting it apart from the standard model.
“We wanted to set another milestone in our company’s history with our new design, developing and constructing a future-proof vehicle that will be produced from 2016 and used for many years to come. As a small, privately owned team, we knew from the outset that approaching a project of this magnitude would be very daring. Therefore, first and foremost, we have to thank our employees and partners who have made it possible to finally set the C7 GT3-R on its wheels”, said Giovanni Ciccone and Ernst Wohr, the Callaway Competition managing partners.
Callaway Competition didn’t have much to say about the new Corvette C7 GT3-R but we can also notice its full carbon fiber body, the racing wheels with special tires and the emergency hatch. The interior design of the racer has been completely modified as well as this has been stripped out and it has received a racing steering wheel, a new display, new buttons on the center panel, racing seat and roll cage, amongst others.
