Alfa Romeo is likely to return to North America by 2012 after a 15-year hiatus, the head of Fiat SpA (FIA.MI), the company that makes the classic Italian sports car, said on Friday. Stile Bertone has unveiled today a concept teaser sketch showing the front of the Alfa Concept. For those who don’t know, Gruppo Bertone is an Italian automobile company, which has specialized in car styling, coachbuilding and manufacturing. Bertone styling is distinctive, with most cars having a strong "family resemblance" even if badged by different manufacturers. Chrysler Group LLC is cooling to the idea of U.S. assembly and sales of Alfa Romeo sports cars, the premium brand of new parent Fiat SpA, under a five-year business plan that focuses on domestic models. The awesome Alfa Romeo MiTo GTA Concept, which was shown in Geneva this March, was due to go on sale before the end of the year priced around £20,000. Problem is that today, an representant of Alfa Romeo told us not to expect the car anytime soon – if ever. “The MiTo GTA has been put on hold.
