World’s No.1 truckmaker Daimler to expand in China
Daimler AG to expand in China and India to maintain its position as the world's No. 1 manufacturer of heavy trucks, Bloomberg reported today. This move comes after it narrowly held on to that rank last year as its global market share dropped to 11% from 15.2%. German carmakers Daimler and BMW on Saturday dismissed a report that they had ended talks on possible cooperation without success. Mercedes-Benz: China sales to surpass UK, U.S.
Due to robust sales in the world's most populous country, Mercedes-Benz expects China to unseat the United Kingdom (UK) as the company's third-largest passenger car market in the world in 2010.
