Skoda introduces Superb 1.6 TDI engine
Škoda has announced the introduction of a 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp engine to its Superb range. The engine offers improved driveability, fuel consumption and CO2 over the 1.9 TDI PD unit which it replaces. Combined mpg has been improved by 6.9mpg for the Hatch, and 5.6mpg for the Estate while emissions have been reduced by 19g/km and 20g/km respectively. Skoda Auto has announced prices for its new, improved Fabia and Roomster models. Fabia range start at £9,330 and the Roomster £11,260 (all prices with 1st April Road Fund Licence inclusive). Both cars also benefit from a new range of engines which includes four petrol and two diesel units, with power outputs ranging from 60bhp through to 105bhp. VW unit Skoda Auto cuts Octavia model production
Czech car maker Skoda Auto AS, a unit of Volkswagen AG, is scaling back production of its Octavia sedan as of March 1 due to unfavorable market conditions, the company's spokesman said Thursday. "The market hasn't developed as well as we had expected," Jaroslav Cerny said, adding that the unusually snowy winter could be keeping potential buyers out of showroooms. Skoda ‘09 sales in China hit record 100,000 units
German auto giant Volkswagen on Thursday said it had sold more than 100,000 Skoda vehicles in China this year to date, passing the landmark for the first time and setting a new record in the rapidly expanding Chinese auto market, Earthtimes reported. Skoda Q3 car sales up on German scrap subsidy
Car sales at Volkswagen's Czech unit Skoda Auto grew 6.5 percent in the third quarter, reversing a decline in the previous two quarters, the company said on Thursday. The "cash for clunkers" subsidy in Germany, Skoda's biggest market, and growing business in China pushed sales to 174,984 vehicles. Skoda - Possible electric car to be added
Skoda could add an electric car to its range on the back of Volkswagen’s E-Up concept car.
