Škoda has announced the introduction of a 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp engine to its Superb range.
The engine offers improved driveability, fuel consumption and CO2 over the 1.9 TDI PD unit which it replaces. Combined mpg has been improved by 6.9mpg for the Hatch, and 5.6mpg for the Estate while emissions have been reduced by 19g/km and 20g/km respectively.

Skoda presents the Fabia Estate GreenLine II and Roomster GreenLine II - the first of its second generation of environmentally-friendly GreenLine models.

Czech car maker Skoda Auto AS, a unit of Volkswagen AG, is scaling back production of its Octavia sedan as of March 1 due to unfavorable market conditions, the company's spokesman said Thursday.
"The market hasn't developed as well as we had expected," Jaroslav Cerny said, adding that the unusually snowy winter could be keeping potential buyers out of showroooms.
