The most powerful production Seven ever, the 620R, will make its public debut this weekend, during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, as Caterham has recently announced.
After it was officially unveiled just a day before writing this article, the brand new Caterham 620R is now being placed into the spotlights once again, this time with an announcement, which isn’t taking anyone by surprise. According to the car manufacturer, the Caterham 620R will be officially presented to the public at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed, this weekend. The model is replacing the R500 and it has a gunmetal chassis, a new nose cone, a race-spec cooling system, a De Dion rear suspension and 13-inch alloy wheels.
Changes in the cabin include the Q/R racing steering wheel, the carbon fiber trim and the racing seats, amongst others. Power to the model is being provided by a 2.0 liter Ford Duratec engine, generating 311 HP (232 kW) at 7,700 rpm and 296 Nm (219 lb-ft) of torque, available at 7,350 rpm. The model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.79 seconds and its official starting price will be set at 58,00 euros (50,000 GBP / 74,500 USD).
