Caterham has recently introduced an updated version of its Superlight R300 race car, which will make its debut at the AutoSport International and it will become available for order at 32, 495 GBP.
“We are looking forward to bringing back sequential gearboxes to Caterham racing – the feedback we have received from the drivers has led us to develop the new Superlight R300 race cars. It’s a win-win scenario because not only will lap times be faster, but it should prove to be extremely robust, too, meaning that along with the durable ZZR tire, entrants can expect improved reliability and reduced costs”, said the chief of Motorsport and Technical officer of Caterham Cars, Simon Lambert.
The updated version of the Caterham Superlight R300 race car is taking its power from a 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, which is producing a total output of 175 HP (130 kW). The unit is mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission, which is now replacing the previous manual gearbox. The suspension system of the race car has been upgraded with new upper wishbones and the vehicle is also getting new Avon ZZR and ZZS tires, which will improve grip and offer a longer life. Prices for the Caterham Superlight R300 racer start at 32,495 GBP.
