The legendary modern day version of a classic Lotus, prescription the Seven model from Caterham, will be sold in China.
“We are engaged in one of the most exciting new chapters in the Caterham Cars story and our entry to the Chinese market is another tangible sign of how Caterham is striving to become a truly global brand”, said the Caterham Cars International Business Manager, David Ridley.
The Courtenay Trading International (CTI), the importer which signed Caterham, is targeting initial sales of 30 to 50 Sevens in the first year of operations.
The agreement between Caterham and CTI could provide a platform from which to launch new models, like the Lola SP/300.R prototype presented at the beginning of this year.
The Caterham automaker is already present on the Asian continent, mostly in Japan, but it is a world premiere for China. Chinese will be able to buy a Caterham starting from January 2012.
