The South Korean automaker has presented at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas concepts for a smart house that can have a car docked as well as a scooter that can be stored inside the Ioniq Electric.
There’s a real issue out here – the future is looking surprisingly lazy (just like in Wall-E) – as the people of tomorrow will have a hard time getting off their future, smart couch and into their future autonomous car! Hyundai thinks there’s a solution – the Mobility Vision smart house concept, which can have your autonomous car docked and actively becoming a part of your living space. The car can even provide air conditioning or emergency generator functions for the home and also deliver media to the home’s screens and speakers. When you need, you simply go away in your “lounge” where you need to, as the car drives away autonomously.
On the other hand you also have the Ioniq Scooter – an electric scooter designed for “last mile” travel, and when not in use the vehicle can be stored inside the front door of the Hyundai Ioniq Electric. The scooter automatically charges when not in use and even has built-in lights for safety. “EV customers in dense urban environments might not have convenient or affordable access to parking or charging stations where they live or work,” comments “EV customers in dense urban environments might not have convenient or affordable access to parking or charging stations where they live or work,” commented Mike O’Brien, Hyundai’s vice president of corporate and product planning, at Hyundai’s CES press conference.
