Lexus has officially pulled the wraps off the new RC F Safety Car, for the V8 Supercars series, which will be used starting from this year.
The newest creation to be signed by Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus is called the RC F Safety Car and it’s, of course, a safety car, which will be used on the V8 Supercars series, starting this year. The model in question is coming with an attractive racing livery, which is helping it stand out from a crowd, along with a roof mounted light bar and several other tweaks.
“V8 Supercars is the world’s leading touring car series and our involvement as supplier of vehicles reflects the new energy in our brand and our dynamic model lines. This partnership is also the perfect opportunity to show Australian motorsport fans the new RC F, which is just as suited to driving on a track as it is on the road”, said Sean Hanley, the Lexus Australia chief executive.
The Japanese based automaker has been cheap on providing performance details on its newest safety car, but the standard model is using a 5.0 liter V8 engine, which is capable of producing a total output of 450 HP (335 kW) and a peak torque of 518 Nm (383 lb-ft). The unit is connected to an 8-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission. From 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h), the model needs just 4.6 seconds and it can go all the way up to 168 mph (270 km/h).
