The Volkswagen Golf GTD Variant has been unveiled over the web ahead of its public debut which will take place at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, this March.
The newest addition to the Volkswagen Golf range is this new GTD Variant, which is following the footsteps of the hatchback. The model in question can easily stand out from its regular versions thanks to the black roof rails, smoked taillights, honeycomb radiator grille, flared sills, GTD front and rear bumpers, dual chrome exhaust setup, standard bi-xenon headlights, 15 mm lowered suspension system, 17-inch Curitiba alloy wheels with 18-inch Nogaro also available and so on.
In the cabin, we can find the black headliner, the Clark tartan wrapped sports seats, the illuminated door sills, the stainless steel pedal caps, golf ball styled gear knob, checkered black decorative inserts and panels, aluminum trim on the multi function steering wheel and several other goodies. Under its hood, the 2.0 liter four-cylinder diesel engine is found, with its 184 HP (135 kW) at 3,500 rpm and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque, available between 1,750 rpm and 3,250 rpm. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the Volkswagen Golf GTD Variant needs just 7.9 seconds, which is making it 0.4 seconds slower than the GTD hatchback. Top speed stands at 230 km/h (143 mph) and the average fuel consumption is 4.4 liters / 100 km (64 mpg UK / 53.4 mpg US). Prices for the model will start from 31,975 EUR, in Germany.
