General Motors has released the first official pictures of the new Chevrolet Camaro Convertible via it official Facebook page.
The new convertible may be available to the customers next year, will be available in three different versions (just like the coupe): LS, LT and the mighty SS. The first two will use a 3.6 liter V6 engine that uses direct injection and variable valve timing and delivers 300 hp & 273 lb-ft of torque, while returning a highway fuel consumption figure of 23 mpg. This can be mated to a six speed manual ‘box or to a six speed automatic transmission.
The car was originally scheduled to be in US showrooms this year, but in March 2009 GM announced that it would suspend work on further variants of the Camaro to cut costs.
