Chevrolet has officially pulled the wraps off the brand new Camaro Z/28.R race car, which will make its debut on the track quite soon.
General Motors’ newest creation in terms of Motorsport is known as the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R and it’s a race car which has been recently unveiled. The model in question has been based, as its name is suggesting, on the standard Camaro Z/28, and it will be campaigned by Stevenson Motorsports and CKS Autosport in the GS class of the IMSA Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge.
“The new Camaro Z/28.R is a significant advancement from the GS.R that won multiple races in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge the last three years. We expect the new engine package, suspension components and aerodynamic improvements to help our teams to further successes in the 2014 GS class”, said Chevy’s Lisa Talarico.
The brand new Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.R race car has received the same aerodynamics package as the road going version and it also has the same 7.0 liter V8 engine and the same limited slip differential as the production car. Additional details on the racer are limited for the moment and will probably be announced once it will make its track debut.
