The aftermarket specialists from Callaway have recently pulled the wraps off their newest creation, an upgrade package aimed towards the Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
Owners of the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 who would like to upgrade their rides will be able to order the package signed by Callaway soon. According to the tuner, this has added the 32 percent larger Callaway GenThree supercharger, the triple element intercooler, the optimized air intake, the supercharger hood surround, the carbon fiber engine cover, the anodized aluminum door sill plates and the embroidered floor mats, amongst others.
“Callaway engineers recognize that a key contributor to maximizing power is reduction of inlet air temperature associated with forced induction. Callaway’s unique triple-element intercooler configuration provides significantly lower and well-managed inlet charge air temperatures than single or smaller dual-element designs. The supercharger housing extends through the hood, thereby exposing it to outside ambient airflow and adding an element of convective cooling. The supercharger is visible without opening the hood, and heat is inherently extracted from the engine compartment”, says the tuner in its press release.
Thanks to these modifications, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 by Callaway is now coming with an extra 107 HP (79 kW) and 172 Nm (127 lb-ft) of torque from the 6.2 liter V8 supercharged engine, which is bringing the total output of the unit to 757 HP (564 kW) and 1,052 Nm (777 lb-ft) of torque. From 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), the model needs just 2.9 seconds. The quarter mile is made in 10.5 seconds at speeds up to 210 km/h (131 mph). Prices for the package have been set at 16,995 USD.
