A brand new example of the Corvette Z06 has been involved in a crash recently, on Laguna Seca.
The Laguna Seca raceway has claimed a lot of supercars over the years and has also shattered a lot of egos. The newest example is this Chevrolet Corvette Z06 which has been involved in a crash, after the driver lost control of the wheel. The good news is that the guy holding the wheel wasn’t injured but it seems that his ride has structural damage and if this turns out to be true, chances are it will end up sold in pieces or in the crusher. The incident happened during a track day event.
The new 2015 Chevrolet Corvette is being crashed more and more often with the carmaker delivering the vehicles to their new owners. The model in question is coming in from 78,995 USD for the coupe and 83,995 USD for the convertible. The Z07 Performance package is adding the carbon ceramic matrix brake rotors, large winglets, adjustable rear spoiler and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires for an extra 7,995 USD while the Carbon Fiber Ground Effects package, bringing the larger rear spoiler, along with the carbon fiber made side skirts and front splitter will be setting you back for another 2,995 USD. Power to the sports car is being provided by a 6.2 liter V8 engine, which is capable of sending a total of 650 HP (485 kW) and 881 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque to the wheels through either a 7-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
