The Chevrolet Cruze has been selected as the Car of the Year in Brazil by 73 local automotive journalists during the 13th annual Automotive Press Award.
According to the North American bases automaker, General Motors, the Chevrolet Cruze has been named the “Best National Car of the Year” in Brazil at the 13th annual Automotive Press Award by a jury made out of 73 Brazilian automotive journalists. The latest award shows that General Motors has hit the jackpot with its Chevrolet Cruze and, since its launch, the model has been sold in almost 200.000 units in the United States only, outselling everything in its class.
“Winning the award reinforces the success of the Cruze. Chevrolet’s global car has already surpassed 1 million units sold”, said the general manager of Marketing and Sales of Chevrolet / General Motors do Brasil, Ronaldo Znidarsis.
The Chevrolet Cruze LS entry-level is powered by a 1.8 liter four-cylinder engine which is developing a total output of 136 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Prices for the entry-level variant have been set at 16.995 USD while the top of the line costs 22.695 USD. The Cruze is being sold in over 70 countries worldwide and it was launched in Brazil in September.
