Chevrolet has recently released the first image and official details on the new Cruze Wagon version, which is expected to make its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The fact that GM always wanted to develop a station wagon version of the popular Cruze model isn’t a surprise but after the company had released the first official image with the new model we can now see for ourselves that the Cruze Wagon is actually quite appealing. Considering the popularity of the model and the price of the sedan, the Cruze Wagon has all the chances of becoming the new best-seller in Chevrolet’s lineup, but until that happens, the automaker will be checking out the public’s reaction in Geneva next month.
“The Cruze Station Wagon caters to an important market segment. It ticks all the boxes for European drivers in terms of distinctive design, dynamic driving, space and economy”, said the president and managing director of Chevrolet Europe, Susan Docherty.
Chevrolet will be using the new version of the Cruze in order to show a new engine option for the model too, the 1.7 liter VCDi diesel unit, which is developing a total output of 130 horsepower. The engine is fitted with the start/stop technology and the CO2 emissions are down at 119 g/km. A number of exterior changes have also been made for the Cruze Wagon and the model has a remodeled front fascia, according to Chevy, with modified headlamps and fog lamps, new wheel styles and some extra seat finishes for the interior.
