Chevrolet reinstating the Silverado, Colorado Midnight Editions for the 2016 MY image

You know pickup trucks are extremely popular when that exact popular demand compels an automaker to offer a special edition beyond its intended production run.

This is exactly what’s happening with Chevrolet, which has recently revealed it will offer a Midnight Edition on the Silverado and Colorado pickup trucks for the 2016 model year as well. For the 2016 MY eager customers will have the opportunity to go for the Midnight Edition on either the Silverado 1500 Z71 or the Colorado Z71 – they both feature a monochromatic styling complete with bespoke “Z71” badges on the doors. The two brothers come with an all-black exterior – even the alloys have the same shade in order to complete the “Dark Knight” looks. Chevrolet is also offering on the Midnight Edition a locking rear differential, transfer case shield, Hill Descent Control, and Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac all-terrain tires to increase the model’s practicality and off-road versatility. The modifications are completed via black Chevy bowtie logos, spray-in bedliner, along with side and beltline moldings that – surprise – are also dressed in black.

The Silverado and Colorado Midnight Edition will become available later on this year – most likely once spring comes into action – and pricing will be revealed closer to dealership introduction. By the way, the 2015 Midnight Editions have been responsible for Chevy’s truck sales soaring a massive 27 percent. Last year Chevrolet also adopted the all-black Midnight Edition theme on other models, including the Trax or Impala.
