Our spy photographers have managed to capture on camera two test mules of the Chevrolet Silverado which are believed to gain a brand new engine.
In between its ignition switch recalls and having to answer a lot of angry customers, General Motors is planning to introduce a new engine for the popular Chevrolet Silverado. The model in question will be introduced sometimes over the following months but before pulling the wraps of its body, the North American based automaker has to make sure that everything is in its place and working just like it should.
The two vehicles pictured below are test mules of the updated Chevrolet Silverado which is believed to gain a new engine. On the prototypes, the 2500 HD and the 3500 HD, the bonnet seems to have a large additional air intake which is covered by a thick layer of camouflage. Rumors are saying that power will be provided by a new engine and it seems that the legendary 6.6 liter Duramax turbo diesel V8 will be replaced. More details on the updated Silverado are limited for the moment and are expected to be announced during the 2015 Detroit Motor Show, next January.
