The North American Division of Chevrolet has just announced the Texas Edition of the Silverado HD, which will be available for the 2500 HD and 3500 HD extended cab or crew cab models with the LT trim level.
“We think the Silverado HD and Texas are a winning combination. We started with the Chevrolet Silverado HD, which was 2011 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, and gave it some Texas attitude, with enhanced exterior style and more interior amenities”, said the Chevrolet regional director, Dave Nottoli. “Texans currently buy about one out of every six heavy-duty pickups sold in the United States. When you take the capability of the Silverado HD, then add the features and amenities of the Texas Edition, we think it will be a hit here in the Lone Star State”.
According to the automaker, besides the unique Texas Edition badge, the 2500 HD models will also include chrome door handles, body side molding accents, power camper mirrors with integrated turn signals, fog lamps, EZ-Lift tailgate, CD player with USB, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, six-way power driver seat, dial-zone automatic climate control, trailering package and auto-lock differential and 20 inch polished forged aluminum wheels, while the 3500 HD come with the same stuff, except the wheels, which are 18 or 17 inch.
Chevrolet says that all models are available with the Duramax diesel engine, which is delivering 397 horsepower and 765 lb-ft of torque, mated to an Allison transmission. Chevy didn’t announce yet the price of the Silverado HD Texas Edition but it says that the pickups will include a five-year / 100.000 mile powertrain limited warranty and roadside assistance.
