Chevrolet is planning to introduce the new generation of the Sonic, also known as the Aveo in some markets, in Malaysia by the end of this year.
The North American based automaker didn’t announce anything official just yet about the launch of the new Aveo / Sonic generation in Malaysia by the end of this year but a question asked on their official Facebook page is probably answering everything about the model and the Asian country in question: “Do you think the Chevrolet Sonic will be one of the hottest new cars by the end of 2012 year?” We honestly don’t think that for a lot of reasons but we’re pretty sure that Chevy will launch the Sonic in Malaysia over the following months.
As a quick reminder, the new Chevrolet Sonic / Aveo generation is coming in three trim levels, the LS, the LT and the LTZ. The LS is coming with air conditioning, cruise control, remote locking, CD stereo radio, electric front windows, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors and a rear spoiler. The LT is adding steering wheel audio controls, chrome gear knob surround, Bluetooth, Driver Information Centre, sunglasses holder, four-way adjustable driver’s seat and 15 inch alloy wheels. The top of the line LTZ version is adding, besides the features mentioned above, six speakers, rear parking sensors, leather wrapped steering wheel and automatic headlamps. Four engines are available for the new Sonic / Aveo generation, two petrol, the 1.2 liter with 86 HP and the 1.4 liter with 100 HP, and two diesels, the 1.3 liter VCDi in two outputs, 75 and 95 HP.
