Chevrolet has officially unveiled the new SS pace car, for a motorsport event over-seas, which has a horribly long name.
The new Chevrolet SS pace car is set to debut at the so-called “Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com, as General Motors is saying. The model in question will be driven by the upcoming movie Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt.
“We are also pleased to have television and movie star Chris Pratt behind the wheel as the honorary pace car driver and as part of our pre-race activities – and look forward to seeing him on the silver screen in his newest movie on August 1st”, said J. Douglas Boles, the president of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Chevrolet SS pace car is taking its power from the 6.2 liter V8 engine. The unit in question is producing a total output of 415 HP (310 kW) and it has a peak torque of 563 Nm (415 lb-ft). Power is being sent to the wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission which is allowing the performance sedan to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in approximately 5 seconds.
