The US automaker has decided to mark half a century of Camaro existence in style and has thus introduced the new Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition special series.
The model is of course labeled as the “most epic Camaro” ever manufactured, with the limited edition wearing a Nightfall Gray Metallic exterior shade complete with body-color front splitter and bespoke 20-inch alloy wheels. Other design highlights include the modified grille, orange brake calipers, and 50th Anniversary body stripes. The base version will also pack as standard the RS Appearance Package which brings HID headlights, LED taillights, and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Chevrolet has not revealed the interior yet but commented it has been equipped with black leather seats with suede inserts, orange contrast stitching, illuminated sill plates, and “distinct 50th Anniversary treatments on instrument panel, seatbacks, and steering wheel.”
The special model will also be using as a basis the 2LT or 2SS Coupe or Convertible trim levels. The latter version has under the hood the mighty 6.2-liter V8 mill that churns out 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain assembly is completed via the six-speed manual gearbox but customers will usually go for the optional eight-speed automatic transmission. The Chevrolet Camaro 50th Anniversary Edition is scheduled to reach dealerships this summer and we’re expecting more details as well as pricing to be revealed closer to the launch date.
